Day 291
I made a call and had more wood delivered to the house tonight since the temperature is in the low 50s and still dropping. It gets pretty cold in a house with hardwood floors and I'm tired of having the heater running. My electricity bill has been really low with the use of the fireplace. It's a plus, but I'm sure it'll spike with the use of the pool pump running 2 hours daily. Now that it's clean, I have to run it so the water will circulate preventing a mold build up. I'm not looking forward to the summer when it'll need to run for 6 hours.
I wasn't out of the house very long today. Just long enough to tan, stop at Hobby Lobby, and meet up with Clair for lunch on post. I have so much fun with that woman it's crazy. I've never had anyone make me laugh like that except for my husband. The best part of her friendship is, she isn't like most the single friends around here who might try to pawn you onto a one-night-stand while your husband is deployed. She's supportive, trusting, helpful, considerate and endearing. I bought her a few cute items for Valentine's Day since we will be each others Valentine this year. She's very into zebra designs so I picked up a cute pink, black and white zebra tote, 'Hello Kitty' jelly bellies, chocolate friendship fortune cookies, a plastic zebra non spill cup with straw included, and I'm going to add in some homemade sugar scrub. I found a great anti-Valentine card to accent the entire gift collage too. Our plan is to wear something cute and fun out to dinner after we exchange gifts. I told her we should act like lesbian lovers, just for reaction from others. [laughs] I don't plan to drink, but offered to drive if Clair did. Either way, I know we will have a good time.
I miss the gym. I'm so annoyed with not working out it's ridiculous. Even with my yoga I have to take it easy. I mean, yoga is meant to be slow and relaxing, but what I do is a full body meltdown routine. As long as I don't increase my heart rate too much, I'll be ok. I'm still on a liquid diet, consisting of green smoothies, green tea, water and soupy veggie combinations. Tomorrow, I will be cooking up a chicken with veggies and rice soup that should last me through till Wednesday of next week. At least it'll be easy to eat and won't hurt my gums. Can I just say oral surgery sucks?! It does. The limitations afterward are painful, and annoying. On a positive side note, I have all our W2 forms and an appointment to file our taxes tomorrow morning. I don't think we will get much back since J has been working tax free in Afghanistan, but something is better than nothing. He asked me 'do you have plans for the money we are getting back?' I told him 'well, we bought you the laptop you wanted last year, but currently I plan on putting it into savings until further notice.' I think he liked that response since he said 'ok baby, we can talk about it more when I come home.' Personally, I'd like to use it on things to upgrade the house or maybe even pay off my motorcycle. That's just one less bill to worry about and more money we could save monthly.
